Carrie Carren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Her approach combines various methodologies such as psychotherapy and the use of experiential therapy, as a means of building genuine communication and decision-making through individual, couples, and family treatment.
Carrie specializes in relationship issues, family conflict, and substance abuse. These specializations can include addiction, codependency, anxiety, coping skills, behavioral issues, depression, divorce, parenting, self-esteem, sexual addiction, gay/lesbian/bisexual issues, mood disorders, and peer relationships. Beyond her utilization of psychotherapy, she has experience providing psycho-educational workshops, crisis counseling, supervision, and consultation.
Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, listening to great podcasts, traveling, and having a good meal cooked by others.
While therapy often brings out sad and difficult feelings, it's important to be reminded there is color and light in the world. Carrie expresses that by her colorful background wall that you get to enjoy while in session.

Through his extensive training at Sit Means Sit Chicago and The Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc., Charcoal is licensed and insured in CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Therapy Dog, Airport Stress Buster, and Crisis Therapy Dog certifications. Charcoal tries to pop into sessions now and again, although he hasn't quite figured out how to work the screen!
STAY TUNED! This little rescue puppy will be training as a therapy dog as soon as he grows up a little bit. In the meantime, be prepared for an occasional pop-up visit during your session.
